Amanda Vo

Last Friday, I was able to catch up with my dear friend Amanda with a lovely breakfast at the Filling Station =)

How we first met: Amanda and I first met when we both decided to sign up for the PRSSA Bateman competition 2010 and by some magical force, we ended up on the same team. Before this competition, I never knew Amanda which is surprising because the Public Relations/Advertising major at Chapman isn’t really the biggest group of people you’ll find. Needless to say, our team also known as Pledge to Exist, formed an INCREDIBLE bond. We spent more time with each other than most family members do, during Spring Semester ‘10 haha. (P.S. Our campaign for the 2010 Census placed in the Top 15 nationwide! Woot Woot)

Best memory with Amanda: This is more of an all inclusive Bateman memory but Amanda was definitely a large part of it. So, here we are in the lab at the film school doing the final edits on our campaign book before we had to submit it the next day…. “It’ll take just a couple of hours, no prob!”… YEAH RIGHT. 6 HOURS LATER… WE ARE STILL THERE…. It is now 2am and hysteria and set upon us. We are all staring at computer monitors like zombies proof reading every single word in our 70something campaign book. We go to Kinkos confident we did our job.. and then… the worst happens. We print our books and find that we misspelled a word… “ASIAN”… instead we put “ASAIN” ??? It wasn’t just one typo either, it was a full page with that misspelling because one of our key-target audiences was the “Asian Americans of Orange County.” MAJOR FAIL. So after fighting back tears, we all rush back to school (thank God for 24 hr kinkos).. fix the error and run back and ready to re-print. This was the FIRST legitimate all nighter I have EVER pulled for school.. I arrived home at roughly 5:30am. But I’ll always remember our team motto that we so proudly chanted, “DON’T BE STUPID.” Yep, words to live by folks!

Why I admire Amanda: Amanda is one of my most reliable friends. She will bend over backwards to help you and never once complain or hesitate about it. It amazes me how she finds the time and energy to do so much and still give 110% when she does it. I am confident that Amanda and I will be friends till the very end.. why? Well, she won’t let it be any other way! This girl knows how to keep promises and that is definitely a quality I admire and want to acquire. <3

I am absolutely, head-over-heels, completely OBSESSED with my little Christina Vu.
Fate seriously brought us together and I can’t believe how lucky and fortunate I am to have her as my Sapphire Sis =)
Even though she is considered my “little” sapphire sis, I seriously admire this gal and her never-ending spunk and contagious laughter. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her NOT smiling and she is just a genuinely sweet girl. She’s seriously my ray of sunshine <3

And the beginning of the ends starts here. Here’s to an amazing last recruitment, seniors. Couldn’t be prouder!

I miss you SO much Big. Words can never express how grateful I am for you because honestly, if it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t be a Phi Sig today. Thanks for reminding what king blue and gold stands for because from now on I will do nothing but AIM HIGH <3

Feeling extremely emotional about my last recruitment tomorrow. Feeling excited, nervous, anxious, happy and sad all at the same time. Going to make the most of this experience and can’t wait to see how our chapter will grow =)

Recruitment.

Its times like these when you miss your sisters the most. Its a rough time, and its also one of most memorable. This is when inside jokes are made, laughter rings throughout the room, and tears of joy flow freely amongst all the not-so-good aspects, such as the short tempers and…

Here is an ode to my Summer 2010. It was definitely the greatest one yet, filled with irreplaceable memories with some incredible people. Thank you all for such a great summer…. and now it’s time to take on my last semester as an undergrad at Chapman University. Buh-ring it. I’m ready.
